Great report. I’m still chewing on many of the details presented early on, but already had some suggestions under the “Outreach” heading:
Discussed what conferences participants were planning to attend; opportunities for building project awareness, gathering input
ALA discussion groups was mentioned in the bullet points. Might I suggest the most expedient way to do that is to form a LITA interest group around the area of applying SOA concepts to library operations? Forming a LITA IG is intentionally a low barrier for entry given the fast moving nature of technology. “To form an Interest Group, a written petition to establish shall be submitted to the Executive Director of LITA (see Appendix, Interest Group Petition/Renewal Form). The petition shall include the title of the group, a function statement, the signatures of two LITA members in good standing, designated as chair and vice-chair, and the signatures of eight or more members of LITA or of the American Library Association, who will be members of the approved group. The group will exist as a unit of LITA, upon approval of the LITA Bylaws and Organization Committee and the Board of Directors.” (From the LITA Manual on Forming an interest group)
All participants should plan discussion sessions at their home institutions. Need to look for other opportunities.
If you can, it would be great if plans and support materials for these discussion sessions were shared broadly. I know I would find them useful in preparing my own community to talk about these issues.

Great suggestion, Peter. I know Marshall Breeding is attending LITA so this might fit with his plans as well.
